This piece adapts a floral motive from the relief of the kalpataru tree (the tree of life) from the Prambanan temple to depict the figure of Eve. Other than that, I merged the idioms of art, religion and pop culture as my eclectic identity. In this piece, I borrow the figure of Eve as a metaphor for mankind itself. Whilst the kalpataru tree is the tree of life, it symbolises the harmony between man and nature, and that is what I intend to portray.
Karya ini mengadaptasi motif flora dari relief pohon kalpataru (pohon kehidupan) dari candi Prambanan untuk menggambarkan sosok Hawa. Selain itu, saya meleburkan idiom seni lukis, relief candi, dan budaya populer, sebagai identitas kultural saya yang eklektik. Dalam karya ini, saya meminjam sosok Hawa sebagai metafora manusia itu sendiri. Sedangkan pohon kalpataru adalah pohon kehidupan simbol keharmonisan hidup dengan alam. Saya meleburkan kedua kultur tersebut yang saya terima, untuk membicarakan bahwa kita (manusia) adalah bagian dari alam itu sendiri.
