My work is an expression of daily life, behavior and also the complexity of locality that has grown and lasted for decades. The place where I was born, namely the uglyong painting village.
Jelekong is a painting village that was established in 1969, where the phenomenon of painting en masse and growing organically has been carried out until now in jelekong. Bringing back objects from the environment where I live, in the form of artifacts through these objects there are various experiences and pieces of behavior, processes of terms or traces. Things that used to have a function then remain and lie in Sundanese terms we call (Rutuntuk). These terms come through a technical work process that is carried out continuously in the daily practice of painting in the jelekong and then these habits give birth to terms that are mutually agreed upon. Responding to the behavioral phenomena found in the objects that I found in the uglyong by presenting them back in the form of paintings, installation objects by placing new traces on the rutuntuk then fragments of the uglyong locality I reuse as a method of creating by combining the images present from existing prints in the head of each jelekong painter a replication of their daily life with what I found outside the jelekong environment.
